My neighbor from Barnard Avenue who I met when we were in kindergarten at #5 school tragically passed away a few days ago. For those who knew or remember(ed) Joanne, you hopefully can recall how kind and sweet she was without a mean bone in her body. She was someone who considered me like a brother and through the years was always incredibly kind and considerate. With all due respect to the class of '74 who are gone but not forgotten, this one really hit me very hard. I already miss your phone calls, checking in and "just saying hello." Rest in peace, my special friend.

Thanks for sharing this, Jeff. She was a lovely, sweet, kind person. I'm really glad you and she kept in touch.
I don't remember seeing her in school after we went to junior high. I'd love to know more about what her life turned out to be.
I lived across the street from the top of Barnard Ave., on West Broadway. She and I had some play dates while in #5 school.
