Robert (but most of us knew him as Bobby) was one feisty compadre.  We met in homeroom and became fast friends. We had many memorable times drinking (when the legal age was 18)  and eating fine food and seeing concerts together.

He had quite the mouth and was not shy to give his opinion about whatever the topic of discussion might be. Sometimes caustic but meant no harm!

Suffered from 9/11 related cancer and put up a valiant battle for 11 years.

He was a good guy and had a good heart!

RIP mi amigo!

Jimmy Evans, great, accurate description.  Sorry to have to read it under these circumstances.

For those of you who didn't know Fink or know of him, you must not have been listening.  He was loud, very funny and witty (check your 9th grade yearbook for "wittiest").  He was also THE toughest guy we knew, in a good way, and he had no problem letting everyone and anyone know.  As the smallest catcher in Cedarhurst Little League history, he would make you pay if you tried to slide into home or if you tried to take him out.

He knew how to live life and enjoy himself.  I can't believe that one of my lifelong buddies has left us.  Talk about gone but not forgotten...absolutely one-of-a-kind!  He referred to himself in many, colorful ways.  One of my faves was DBTNT, Doctor Bob The Night Tripper.

Please raise your glass to Fink, or more appropriately, twist one up in his memory.  Miss ya, buddy.

Bobby and I played 3rd base and shortstop respectively for the Robins in little league. We became baseball brothers. We lost track attending college. He reached out for help when he was ill. It was my pleasured to rekindle our friendship and meet his signicant other. He loved visiting us in South Carolina and lounging in our screened in porch. He brought his mitt and we had our last catch together. I will always remember his remarkable stories, athletic prowess, and sense of humor.

Bob Finkle sat behind me in algebra class and we became fast friends. Fink was funny, a total jokester, flirty, and had a brilliant mind. We remained friends for many years. He was a one of a kind good guy and I miss him. Rest In Peace Robert Bernard Finkle. I will always remember you with love.

So sorry to hear about Bobby.  He truly was one of the most forthright, brightest individuals I've ever known.  Had that wonderful, sardonic sense of humor that often went way over my head.  Drove to Florida with him when we were 18,  dont think I ever laughed as much.  Such a stand up guy.  RIP  Bobby.
